Rhino viper12/3/2023 ![]() ![]() Four fractions aggregated platelets and enhanced platelet adenosine diphosphate reactivity. Due to the fact that they often tend to reside in such remote. These horns are used to help the snake burrow into the ground. The rhino viper gets its name from the large, horn-like protrusions on its head. It is a member of the viper family and is closely related to the puff adder and the Gaboon viper. With their forward- established eyes and intricate markings, the head really looks even more like a gecko or lizard than a snake. The rhino viper is a venomous snake found in Africa. The other five fractions shortened the plasma recalcification time but had no effect on plasmin activity. The rhino viper, likewise called the river jack snake and the butterfly viper, is amongst one of the most one-of-a-kind- looking snakes in the globe. All occur in Africa and range from 30 cm to 1.8 metres (12 inches to 6 feet) in length. ![]() There are a dozen or more species of Bitis. One possessed anticoagulant activity, inhibited plasmin, and increased the optical density of platelet-rich plasma. Bitis, snake genus belonging to the venomous viper family Viperidae, including the puff adders (e.g., Bitis arietans, see adder the Gaboon viper, B. Passage through carboxymethylcellulose yielded six fractions. The crude venom increased platelet adhesiveness but in high concentrations delayed the snowstorm effect in the Chandler's tube system and inhibited platelet adenosine diphosphate reactivity. In the euglobulin clot lysis system high concentrations of venom produced inhibition. One female and two male specimens of the rhinoceros horned viper, Bitis nasicornis, were studied in captivity over a period of 10 months. The venom was also proteolytic and in purified caseinolytic systems activated plasminogen, enhanced the activation of plasminogen by streptokinase, and potentiated the action of plasmin. They have a brighter color pattern (more blue and greenish) and a narrower head than Gaboon. This action appeared to be due to an effect on both the extrinsic and intrinsic blood thromboplastin mechanisms. The name Rhino viper usually refers to the species Bitis nasicornis. This highly venomous, 2 to 4 feet long snake, blends in with rainforests and swamps with its beautiful patterns and colours. The venom of the rhinoceros horned viper (Bitis nasicornis) has been studied in vitro and has been shown to be anticoagulant. ![]()
